Embody the Undefined
With Embody the Undefined week coming up next week, we want to break down the term for all of you. Embody the Undefined is more than just a catchy slogan. When we say Embody the Undefined we are talking about embracing that which cannot be defined.
Beauty is one of the most talked about subjects around us. It is also the root of a lot of insecurities. The word itself is not the issue, but it is the definition we have set for it. The dictionary definition of the word beauty is “a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight.” The question is: whose aesthetic senses are we pleasing? Everyone is different and each person has different tastes. One person can think a particular painting is beautiful, while the other person can just see paint splattered on a canvas without any emotions toward it. When it comes down to it, beauty cannot be defined by society because it is all based on perspective.
However, society, of course, has tried defining and interpreting this ambiguous word. Society highlights some traits as more favorable than others, thus building beauty up to be this unattainable goal. However, how can we take such a broad word and give it such a narrow-minded meaning?
To us, the term beauty is so much more than just purely aesthetics. As a matter of fact, we believe that it has almost nothing to do with sight. Think about it or at least ponder the common question: “If you were blind, what would your definition of beauty be?” When that challenging question is thrown into the discussion, people will often begin throwing words such as personalities and uniqueness around. However, we, Resemble Beauty, believe that those things are the true definition of beauty. Beauty is that “special something” about you that makes you who you are. It is not an
airbrushed, perfect body or even if you are an exact replica of Barbie (which no one is, nor should they aspire to be). It is your personality; it is your laugh; it is what you are passionate about. It encompasses all of the things that make you, you.So that is Embody the Undefined. It is you as you are. Click To Tweet
So that is Embody the Undefined. It is you as you are. For you were created beautifully. You were made in the image of a God, who we call beautiful despite never seeing Him, which proves that beauty is more than what you see. It is the nature of who someone is. Now we implore you, beautiful girl, to join us during March 15-21 as we celebrate what God has created when He made you. Join us as we strive to break the mold on this definition of beauty. We ask you to think about something that makes you uniquely you and either take a picture, make a video, or whatever you choose and use #embodytheundefined! We cannot wait to see how you all begin to reshape this term.
Can’t wait to see you embody the undefined and tell society that YOU are the definition of beauty.
